Drug-User Community Harm Reduction Dialogue
The proposed Drug-User Community Harm Reduction Dialogue will be the first to be organized by Drug Harm Reduction Advocacy Network Nigeria (DHRAN).
The virtual event proposes to look at the legal provisions of the Nigeria laws on drugs and other laws on narcotic drugs specifically the NDLEA act, to find a way of reconciling the provisions of the law with the widely recognized movement of Harm Reduction, which aims to reduce adverse health, social and legal impacts of drug use through a set of policies, interventions, and strategies; that affirms people who use drugs (PWUD) themselves as the key stakeholders and agents of reducing the harms of their drug use.
This event is open to everyone interested in Harm Reduction in Nigeria. Law Enforcement, Government, International, and UN Institutions will be invited to the event.
With this event, DHRAN expects to reach about 120 persons who use drugs/peer service providers.
